Most of you are familiar with the phenomenon known as 'ship weeks'. Some ships have them frequently. Some of them don't. I bet there's a few ships out there that have never even had a week. Us Sokkla shippers like to have a ship week from time to time but we recently came to a conclusion. One week just can't contain the awesome...

SOKKLA SUMMER, 2009
(For those of you who live under a rock, 'Sokkla' is the pairing of Sokka and Azula.)

Sokkla summer will run from June 21st to August 1st. That's six weeks of Sokkla goodness.

Each week there will be a different prompt to kick start the creative process~

June 28 - July 4 ----- DORK

July 5 - July 11 ----- JASMINE
July 12 - July 18 ----- NAKED
July 19 - July 25 ----- CAKE
(*Additional prompt for July 25 is BIRTHDAY*)
July 26 - August 1 ----- RIBBON

You may submit as many fics or as much art as you want during the week!

To make things a little more interesting, whoever contributes the most Sokkla goodness during the event will get a paid LJ account or a paid deviantART account! Winner's choice!

Submissions will be counted based on these rules:

--Fanfiction-- Submissions less than 200 words will be counted as 1/2 an entry. Submissions 200 words or more will be counted as 1. Submissions 800 words or greater will be counted as 2. If an entry of yours exceeds 1,600 words, it will be counted as 3.

--Fanart-- Since it would be unfair to count fanart entries based on artistic talent, all pieces featuring Sokkla and the weekly theme will be counted as 1 entry as long as there is obvious effort put into it. So that means no stick figures, please!

--Icons-- Seven icons that relate to Sokkla and the weekly theme will count as 1 entry.

--AMV's/FST's-- One AMV or FST will count as 2 entries

July 4th and July 25th both have prompts in addition to the weekly one. Any entries submitted on these two days for the special prompts will be counted as double. (ex. A piece of fanart would count as 2, an AMV will count as 4) Entries based off the additional prompts will only be counted as double on the day they are assigned. I'll be lenient because of different timezones but if you post an entry based on "Birthday" on July 28th it will no longer count as double.

Please post all entries to either avatar_fans or sokka_x_azula and mark them as being for Sokkla Summer in some way, shape, or form. If you do not frequent LJ or are too shy to post, submissions can be emailed to me at xdeadlyserenadex [at] yahoo.com.

Every Sunday morning I will post a reminder of the prompt change to sokka_x_azula . If there's a few people who want me to do the same on avatar_fans , I can do that as well. I'd just rather not spam up everyone's f-lists~
